It has been difficult to find tasty food in Tokyo that isn't fried. I love fried food in Japan~! Sadly, I found that a lot of franchised places were tastier than some mom&pop stores. Mum prefers to not eat fried food since there's too much heat from it and she's right~! After we ate okonomiyaki, I got a sore throat. Fried food here is really delicious though ;___;
Today we went down to Tokyo Station to buy souvenirs but we failed. It's not that Tokyo Station does not offer a wide array of gift options--oh, they do. We justttttttt...were not interested in any of them. Perhaps Japanese confectioneries are just over adorned? We might get some more baum kuchen though, yum.
Baum kuchen and macarons seem to be really popular sweets right now..but I digress.
So! We were going to go to Marunoichi building but we ran into this place at Kitchen Avenue!
We bought two ox tongue sets and a salad (not pictured cause it was blurry~)
It was served with barley rice. Nice, small change of pace.
We had the choice between salted ox tongue and ox tongue with house sauce..we ordered both. Yum.
Soup came with the set. Very softtttttttt ox tongue in chicken broth.
I was excited when I saw this up close. Minced ox tongue over tofu!!
So happy that we finally found a unique place to eat! :)
