Nishiyama Sweets in Asakusa

Our second visit to Asakusa had a purpose. The first time, Auntie took us from Akiba and we enjoyed the nightlife (carnival fried foods and sweets) Sunday night

We returned to Asakusa for one reason: Nishiyama Sweets! Located very close to Kaminarimon. Just cross the street and turn left and you will see a small shop serving very good green tea ice cream with rice crackers and sweet red bean.

Though they also serve sweet anpan with hot tea. Oolong? It certainly was not green :)

We also ordered the 2 scoop ice cream set with mochi, tangerine, rice crackers and a scoops of red bean served with tea.

I really recommend getting the oshiruko too :)

Yes, we ordered a lot for three people but how often will we be in Tokyo? There is nothing comparable to Nishiyama Sweets in S.F.~! Where can I find a homemade icecream shop that serves just vanilla, green tea and red bean ice cream with rice crackers and mochi?????? WHERE???????????

Well, maybe I'll give Kissako Tea's dango in Japantown a shot. I don't think they have green tea ice cream though! :P
